80:1
عَبَسَوَتَوَلَّىٰٓ١
Saheeh International
The Prophet frowned and turned away.
Surah 'Abasa
Ayah-42, Makkah
80:2
أَنجَآءَهُٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ٢
Saheeh International
Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting].
80:3
وَمَايُدۡرِيكَلَعَلَّهُۥيَزَّكَّىٰٓ٣
Saheeh International
But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified.
80:4
أَوۡيَذَّكَّرُفَتَنفَعَهُٱلذِّكۡرَىٰٓ٤
Saheeh International
Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him.
80:5
أَمَّامَنِٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ٥
Saheeh International
As for he who thinks himself without need.
80:6
فَأَنتَلَهُۥتَصَدَّىٰ٦
Saheeh International
To him you give attention.
80:7
وَمَاعَلَيۡكَأَلَّايَزَّكَّىٰ٧
Saheeh International
And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified.
80:8
وَأَمَّامَنجَآءَكَيَسۡعَىٰ٨
Saheeh International
But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge].
80:9
وَهُوَيَخۡشَىٰ٩
Saheeh International
While he fears [Allah].
80:10
فَأَنتَعَنۡهُتَلَهَّىٰ١٠
Saheeh International
From him you are distracted.
80:11
كَلَّآإِنَّهَاتَذۡكِرَةٞ١١
Saheeh International
No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder.
80:12
فَمَنشَآءَذَكَرَهُۥ١٢
Saheeh International
So whoever wills may remember it.
80:13
فِيصُحُفٖمُّكَرَّمَةٖ١٣
Saheeh International
[It is recorded] in honored sheets.
80:14
مَّرۡفُوعَةٖمُّطَهَّرَةِۭ١٤
Saheeh International
Exalted and purified.
80:15
بِأَيۡدِيسَفَرَةٖ١٥
Saheeh International
[Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels.
80:16
كِرَامِۭبَرَرَةٖ١٦
Saheeh International
Noble and dutiful.
80:17
قُتِلَٱلۡإِنسَٰنُمَآأَكۡفَرَهُۥ١٧
Saheeh International
Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he.
80:18
مِنۡأَيِّشَيۡءٍخَلَقَهُۥ١٨
Saheeh International
From what substance did He create him.
80:19
مِننُّطۡفَةٍخَلَقَهُۥفَقَدَّرَهُۥ١٩
Saheeh International
From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him.
80:20
ثُمَّٱلسَّبِيلَيَسَّرَهُۥ٢٠
Saheeh International
Then He eased the way for him.
80:21
ثُمَّأَمَاتَهُۥفَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ٢١
Saheeh International
Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.
80:22
ثُمَّإِذَاشَآءَأَنشَرَهُۥ٢٢
Saheeh International
Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
80:23
كَلَّالَمَّايَقۡضِمَآأَمَرَهُۥ٢٣
Saheeh International
No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him.
80:24
فَلۡيَنظُرِٱلۡإِنسَٰنُإِلَىٰطَعَامِهِۦٓ٢٤
Saheeh International
Then let mankind look at his food.
80:25
أَنَّاصَبَبۡنَاٱلۡمَآءَصَبّٗا٢٥
Saheeh International
How We poured down water in torrents.
80:26
ثُمَّشَقَقۡنَاٱلۡأَرۡضَشَقّٗا٢٦
Saheeh International
Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts].
80:27
فَأَنۢبَتۡنَافِيهَاحَبّٗا٢٧
Saheeh International
And caused to grow within it grain.
80:28
وَعِنَبٗاوَقَضۡبٗا٢٨
Saheeh International
And grapes and herbage.
80:29
وَزَيۡتُونٗاوَنَخۡلٗا٢٩
Saheeh International
And olive and palm trees.
80:30
وَحَدَآئِقَغُلۡبٗا٣٠
Saheeh International
And gardens of dense shrubbery.
80:31
وَفَٰكِهَةٗوَأَبّٗا٣١
Saheeh International
And fruit and grass.
80:32
مَّتَٰعٗالَّكُمۡوَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ٣٢
Saheeh International
[As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.
80:33
فَإِذَاجَآءَتِٱلصَّآخَّةُ٣٣
Saheeh International
But when there comes the Deafening Blast.
80:34
يَوۡمَيَفِرُّٱلۡمَرۡءُمِنۡأَخِيهِ٣٤
Saheeh International
On the Day a man will flee from his brother.
80:35
وَأُمِّهِۦوَأَبِيهِ٣٥
Saheeh International
And his mother and his father.
80:36
وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦوَبَنِيهِ٣٦
Saheeh International
And his wife and his children.
80:37
لِكُلِّٱمۡرِيٕٖمِّنۡهُمۡيَوۡمَئِذٖشَأۡنٞيُغۡنِيهِ٣٧
Saheeh International
For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him.
80:38
وُجُوهٞيَوۡمَئِذٖمُّسۡفِرَةٞ٣٨
Saheeh International
[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright.
80:39
ضَاحِكَةٞمُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةٞ٣٩
Saheeh International
Laughing, rejoicing at good news.
80:40
وَوُجُوهٞيَوۡمَئِذٍعَلَيۡهَاغَبَرَةٞ٤٠
Saheeh International
And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust.
80:41
تَرۡهَقُهَاقَتَرَةٌ٤١
Saheeh International
Blackness will cover them.
80:42
أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَهُمُٱلۡكَفَرَةُٱلۡفَجَرَةُ٤٢
Saheeh International
Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
