Surah Al-Fajr

Ayah-30, Makkah

89:1

وَٱلۡفَجۡرِ١

Saheeh International

By the dawn.

89:2

وَلَيَالٍعَشۡرٖ٢

Saheeh International

And [by] ten nights.

89:3

وَٱلشَّفۡعِوَٱلۡوَتۡرِ٣

Saheeh International

And [by] the even [number] and the odd.

89:4

وَٱلَّيۡلِإِذَايَسۡرِ٤

Saheeh International

And [by] the night when it passes.

89:5

هَلۡفِيذَٰلِكَقَسَمٞلِّذِيحِجۡرٍ٥

Saheeh International

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception.

89:6

أَلَمۡتَرَكَيۡفَفَعَلَرَبُّكَبِعَادٍ٦

Saheeh International

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad.

89:7

إِرَمَذَاتِٱلۡعِمَادِ٧

Saheeh International

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars.

89:8

ٱلَّتِيلَمۡيُخۡلَقۡمِثۡلُهَافِيٱلۡبِلَٰدِ٨

Saheeh International

The likes of whom had never been created in the land.

89:9

وَثَمُودَٱلَّذِينَجَابُواْٱلصَّخۡرَبِٱلۡوَادِ٩

Saheeh International

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley.

89:10

وَفِرۡعَوۡنَذِيٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ١٠

Saheeh International

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes.

89:11

ٱلَّذِينَطَغَوۡاْفِيٱلۡبِلَٰدِ١١

Saheeh International

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands.

89:12

فَأَكۡثَرُواْفِيهَاٱلۡفَسَادَ١٢

Saheeh International

And increased therein the corruption.

89:13

فَصَبَّعَلَيۡهِمۡرَبُّكَسَوۡطَعَذَابٍ١٣

Saheeh International

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

89:14

إِنَّرَبَّكَلَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِ١٤

Saheeh International

Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

89:15

فَأَمَّاٱلۡإِنسَٰنُإِذَامَاٱبۡتَلَىٰهُرَبُّهُۥفَأَكۡرَمَهُۥوَنَعَّمَهُۥفَيَقُولُرَبِّيٓأَكۡرَمَنِ١٥

Saheeh International

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me.

89:16

وَأَمَّآإِذَامَاٱبۡتَلَىٰهُفَقَدَرَعَلَيۡهِرِزۡقَهُۥفَيَقُولُرَبِّيٓأَهَٰنَنِ١٦

Saheeh International

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me.

89:17

كَلَّاۖبَللَّاتُكۡرِمُونَٱلۡيَتِيمَ١٧

Saheeh International

No! But you do not honor the orphan.

89:18

وَلَاتَحَـٰٓضُّونَعَلَىٰطَعَامِٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ١٨

Saheeh International

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

89:19

وَتَأۡكُلُونَٱلتُّرَاثَأَكۡلٗالَّمّٗا١٩

Saheeh International

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether.

89:20

وَتُحِبُّونَٱلۡمَالَحُبّٗاجَمّٗا٢٠

Saheeh International

And you love wealth with immense love.

89:21

كَلَّآۖإِذَادُكَّتِٱلۡأَرۡضُدَكّٗادَكّٗا٢١

Saheeh International

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed.

89:22

وَجَآءَرَبُّكَوَٱلۡمَلَكُصَفّٗاصَفّٗا٢٢

Saheeh International

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank.

89:23

وَجِاْيٓءَيَوۡمَئِذِۭبِجَهَنَّمَۚيَوۡمَئِذٖيَتَذَكَّرُٱلۡإِنسَٰنُوَأَنَّىٰلَهُٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ٢٣

Saheeh International

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance.

89:24

يَقُولُيَٰلَيۡتَنِيقَدَّمۡتُلِحَيَاتِي٢٤

Saheeh International

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life.

89:25

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖلَّايُعَذِّبُعَذَابَهُۥٓأَحَدٞ٢٥

Saheeh International

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment.

89:26

وَلَايُوثِقُوَثَاقَهُۥٓأَحَدٞ٢٦

Saheeh International

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

89:27

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَاٱلنَّفۡسُٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ٢٧

Saheeh International

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul.

89:28

ٱرۡجِعِيٓإِلَىٰرَبِّكِرَاضِيَةٗمَّرۡضِيَّةٗ٢٨

Saheeh International

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him].

89:29

فَٱدۡخُلِيفِيعِبَٰدِي٢٩

Saheeh International

And enter among My [righteous] servants.

89:30

وَٱدۡخُلِيجَنَّتِي٣٠

Saheeh International

And enter My Paradise.
